Rohm and Haas Price increases

Price increases on the horizon
Rohm and Haas, a worldwide producer of specialty chemicals, will implement list and off-list price increases for all acrylic emulsions, vinyl acrylic emulsions, solution polymers, styrene-containing polymers, and additives sold to the architectural coatings, industrial coatings, construction and building products, traffic markings, graphic arts, textile and non-wovens industries in North America. The increases, which range from 8 percent to 15 percent per wet pound for emulsions and from 8 percent to 15 percent per dry pound for solid-grade resins, will take effect immediately or as contracts allow.

The increases are required to offset the continuing escalation in crude oil and all major petrochemical feedstock costs (especially benzene), which have reached record levels. Feedstock shortages and spot outages are also aggravating the economic picture.
